Ok, I’ll admit it... I’m a frequent (+ unregistered) Reddit scroller— particularly on the USF subreddit to stay in the know about campus events and updates + other subreddits that relate to my shame-inducing reality TV watches and determining the moral compass of strangers.
Being the open forum that Reddit is, many students took to the platform to discuss the hardships they faced while following the unprecedented social distancing mandates that began in 2020. Amongst these expressed troubles was the very frequent mention of friends in the form of “anyone wanna be friends?” or “how have you guys been able to make friends?” titled posts.
Personally speaking, I understand how difficult it can be for people — especially adults + those who do not thrive in new social situations — to make new friends generally, nonetheless in a large and saturated environment like a college/university campus.
